5.8- PTO speed
During operation, the PTO speed must remain constant
at 540 rpm.
Therefore, there is need for finding out which engine
speed provides 540 rpm at the PTO.
There are four possibilities to do that:
Check for a possible indication in the tachometer
(rpm counter) of the tractor.
See example in the side figure.
Check whether some decal of the tractor has such
information.
Refer to your tractor’s manual.
If the doubt remains, use a tachometer, according
to side picturem directly in the PTO shaft.
