7.10- Replacement of the gathering drums safety pins
There are two locking pins (1), one for each gathering
drum, whose function is to protect the drum against
overloads.
If while gathering, the gathering drums stop turning,
turn the machine off and immediately check the pins (1)
according to the following:
a) With the machine turned off and cardan shaft
uncoupled, remove the cover (2), if equipped.
b) Remove the bolts (4), using wrench according to the
sub-item 12.1 table, and remove the cover (5) of the
gear box.
c) Manually remove the gears (6).
d) Remove the gear box (7) releasing the bolts (8) using
a wrench according to the sub-item 12.1 table.
e) Remove the locking pins (1) that are broken using the
pins (3) that are in the machine tool box.
f) Install the new pins.
g) Using a punch, clinch the tip of the pins so that they
get narrowed exactly in the assembly hole.
h) Reassemble the disassembled parts and close the
plastic cover (5) or cover (2) if equipped.
