Why Kaco Inverter does not start?

  The Kaco Inverter might not be starting due to several reasons. It could be in its night shut-down mode, meaning it's simply off overnight. Alternatively, there might be no grid voltage present, or the solar generator voltage could be less than 125 V. Check the power meter to see if the device delivers power. If power is delivered the display module is defective and the inverter has to be returned to KACO for repair. If no power is delivered you should check that grid voltage is present and that the solar generator voltage is higher than 125 V. If this is the case but the inverter still fails to deliver power the device has to be returned to KACO for repair.

  If your Kaco Inverter displays an unrealistic daily peak value, it might be due to a grid voltage failure. The good news is that even with this incorrect display, the inverter should continue to function correctly without any yield losses. The values are automatically reset overnight. If you want to reset the display immediately, disconnect the inverter and the DC grid voltage supply, then switch the inverter back on.

Why Kaco Inverter grid fuse triggers?

  The grid fuse in your Kaco Inverter setup might be triggering due to a couple of reasons. It could be that the grid fuse rating is insufficient for your setup. At times of high insolation the inverter may exceed its rated current for a short time, depending on the type of solar generator. Therefore, the grid fuse should have a higher rating than the max. grid feeding current. Alternatively, the inverter hardware itself might be damaged. If the grid fuse acts immediately when the inverter starts feeding into the grid, the inverter hardware is damaged and the device has to be returned to KACO for repair.

What to do if Kaco Inverter terminates grid feeding shortly after starting-up?

  If your Kaco Inverter starts up but stops feeding into the grid shortly after, even when there's sufficient sunlight, it could be due to a defective grid isolation relay within the inverter. Although there is enough insolation, the inverter delivers power for a few seconds only and switches off again. During this short time a grid feeding value between 0 – 5 W is displayed. If insufficient generator power can be ruled out in this case the grid isolation relay is presumably defective and prevents the inverter from being activated.

Why Kaco Powador xi daily yield values do not correspond to the values shown on the power meter?

  If the daily yield values on your Kaco Inverter don't match the values on the utility company's power meter, it's likely due to tolerances of the inverter’s internal measuring elements. Measuring errors are caused by tolerances of the measuring elements. The daily yield value may deviate from the value shown on the power meter by up to 15%.

What to do if Kaco Powador xi shows no display?

  The Kaco Inverter display might not be showing anything because the device is in the night shut-down mode, no grid voltage is present or the solar generator voltage is less than 110V. The inverter shuts down over night. If the display should not be illuminated during a normal time of the day you should check on the power meter whether or not the device delivers power. If power is delivered the display module is defective, and the inverter has to be returned to KACO for repair. If no power is delivered you should check that grid voltage is present and that the solar generator voltage is higher than 125 V. If this is the case but the inverter still fails to deliver power the device has to be returned to KACO for repair.

What to do if my Kaco Inverter line fuse trips?

  If the line fuse trips, it could be due to two reasons. One reason is that the line fuse capacity is too low. In this case, especially with high insolation, the inverter might briefly exceed its rated current. To resolve this, ensure the inverter’s pre-fuse capacity is somewhat higher than the maximum grid feed current. Another reason may be damage to the inverter’s hardware. Should this be the case, the unit must be repaired by KACO new energy GmbH.

Why is my Kaco Inverter active but not feeding into the grid?

  If your inverter is active but not feeding into the grid and the display shows: Start at 125 V meas. xxx V, it is likely due to insufficient generator voltage. This can happen when there is insufficient solar insolation because of bad weather conditions, after sunrise, or at sunset. The generator voltage or power from the roof may be too low to supply power to the grid.

  If your inverter stops supplying power to the grid shortly after being switched on, even with sufficient sunlight, it suggests a faulty grid separation relay within the inverter. If the inverter is receiving sufficient generator power, the grid separation relay is presumably faulty, preventing the inverter from connecting.

What does it mean when my Kaco Inverter display shows “Failure PV overvoltage”?

  If the inverter's display shows the error message “Failure PV overvoltage”, it means that the solar voltage on the solar generator has risen above 500 V. To protect the inverter, it will not feed into the grid until the input voltage falls below 500 V again.
