Driving your vehicle Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)

recognition is in a marginal state.
䳜 In case of a large number of pas

tries or cyclists are gathered.
䳜 The radar sensor or front view
camera is blocked with a foreign
object or debris.
䳜 The camera lens is contaminated
due to tinted, filmed or coated
windshield, damaged glass, or
stuck of foreign matter (sticker,
bug, etc.) on the glass.
䳜 The brightness outside is too low
such as when the headlamps are
not on at night or the vehicle is
going through a tunnel.
䳜 Inclement weather such as heavy
rain or snow obscures the field of
view of the radar sensor or front
view camera.
䳜 When light coming from a street
light or an oncoming vehicle is
reflected on a wet road surface
such as a puddle in the road.
䳜 The field of view in front is
obstructed by sun glare.
䳜 The windshield glass is fogged up;
a clear view of the road is
obstructed.
䳜 The adverse road conditions
cause excessive vehicle vibrations
while driving.
䳜 The sensor recognition changes
suddenly when passing over a
speed bump.
䳜 You are on a roundabout.
䳜 When the pedestrian or cyclist
suddenly interrupts in front of
the vehicle.
䳜 When the cyclist in front is riding
intersected with the driving direc

tion.
䳜 When there is any other electro
-
magnetic interference.
䳜 When the construction area, rail
or other metal object is near the
cyclist.
䳜 If the bicycle material is not
reflected well on the radar.
䳜 Do not use Forward Collision-
Avoidance Assist system when
towing a vehicle. Application of
FCA system while towing may
adversely affect the safety of
your vehicle or the towing vehicle.
䳜 Use extreme caution when the
vehicle in front of you has cargo
that extends rearward from the
cab, or when the vehicle in front
of you has higher ground clear
-
ance.
䳜 FCA system is designed to detect
and monitor the vehicle ahead or
detect a pedestrian or cyclist (if
equipped) in the roadway through
radar signals and camera recogni
-
tion. It is not designed to detect
bicycles, motorcycles, or smaller
wheeled objects such as luggage
bags, shopping carts, or strollers.
