Driving your vehicle Smart Cruise Control (SCC)
Canceled automatically
䳜 The driver's door is opened.
䳜 The shift lever is shifted to N
(Neutral), R (Reverse) or P (Park

ing).
䳜 The EPB (electronic parking
brake) is applied.
䳜 The vehicle speed is over 170 km/
h (105 mph).
䳜 The ESC, ABS or TCS is operating.
䳜 The ESC is turned off.
䳜 The sensor or the cover is dirty or
blocked with foreign matter.
䳜 The accelerator pedal is continu
-
ously depressed for long time.
䳜 The engine speed is in dangerous
range.
䳜 SCC system has malfunctioned.
䳜 When the braking control is oper
-
ated for Forward Collision-Avoid
-
ance Assist system.
䳜 The vehicle is stopped for more
than 5 minutes.
䳜 The vehicle stops and goes
repeatedly for a long period of
time.
䳜 The driver starts driving by push
-
ing the toggle switch up (RES+)/
down (SET-), after the vehicle is
stopped by Smart Cruise Control
system with no other vehicle
ahead.
䳜 When the parking brake is locked.
䳜 Engine has some problems.
Each of these actions will cancel the
smart cruise control operation. (the
set speed and vehicle to vehicle dis

tance on the LCD display will go off.)
In a condition the smart cruise con

trol is canceled automatically, Smart
Cruise Control will not resume even
though the RES+ or SET-lever is
moved.
In a condition Smart Cruise Control is
canceled automatically when the
vehicle stops, the EPB will activate
and the parking brake will be locked.
If Smart Cruise Control is canceled
by other than the reasons men

tioned, have the system checked by
a professional workshop. Kia recom
-
mends to visit an authorized Kia
dealer/service partner.
If the system is automatically can

celed, the warning chime will sound
and a message will appear for a few
seconds.
