Sanitization Procedure for K5 Air Charge Cartridge Change

Close faucet
attach anti-spray
line
Remove all
remaining cartridges
and install plugs
Discard
water in
bucket
Slowly open
feed valve
Close faucet
Fill bucket
WARNING:
Do not overflow
Open faucet
- watch out
for spray
Install RO and
post-filter
Leave faucet open
Pour one package into
center of pre-filter
cartridge and install
Remove 3/8” line
and replace plug in
yellow port
Close jack screw
Open jack screw all
the way up
Remove postfilter
and install cartridge
plug
Open faucet to
depressurize
system
•Pour one package of cleaning agent into
dry cartridge plug
•Install plug into cartridge prefilter position
Close tank valve
Slowly crack open faucet to depressurize
the system
WARNING: Do not
open faucet all the
way. Air, water and
chemical solution will
spray out forcefully.
Be prepared to control
the anti-spray line.
Remove 3/8” plug from yellow port on
manifold and insert 3/8” tube into same
yellow port.
Place the other end into a 5 gallon bucket.
Slowly open
feed valve
Wait 2 minutes
Close feed
Remove
anti-spray
line
Slowly open
feed valve
Open tank
ball valve
Wait for flow
to stop
Close faucet
- may hear a
buzzing, this
is OK
Wait 4 minutes

Inform customer to allow tank to fill for several hours then discard 1-2
tanks of water.
