10.1 Repetition test

For the realization of the environmental protection
device-specific repeated testing are necessary in
accordance with EN 378-4 (appendix D) and
regulation (EG) No. 842/2006.
Monitoring requires no specific
knowledge of the refrigeration
technology and can accomplished by
an instructed person with appropriate
expertise.
The execution of the testing must be carry out by a
cooling specialized enterprise considering the
environmental relevant requirements regarding re-use
and disposal of fuels and construction units.

Definition of the application characteristics:
D2: Repeated testings are to carry out after an interference into the refrigerant circuit in the repair and case of service
(exchange of components, removal of leakages, exchange of filter dryer employments). Repeated testings are to carry
out before re-operation of cooling machine after a rest period about more than 2 years
D3: Repeated testings are to carry out after maintenance as well as substantial changes of the plants or construction
units.
D4: Repeated testings are to carry out if there will be a kinematics inversion after initial start-up of the cooling machine at
the end user.
The kinematics inversion of the cooling machine from the manufacturing company to the end user points statistically no
frequency in mistakes and is excluded therefore by the repeat examinations causes by special transportation
precautionary arrangements.
D5: Leakage detection at the refrigerant plant is to be carrying out if a serious suspicion on leakages results. The
frequency of the leak test is specified by the specified regulations above. It has to be done according to the refrigerant
charge between quarterly inspections up to annually inspection. It has to start at a filling amount of 3 kg and more.
The visual inspection according EN 378-2:2008 (appendix G) contains:
Cleanness of the air filter mats at the condenser.
Check identification marking of seal lacquer at the refrigerant circuits (fittings at the compressor) for intactness
(red seal lacquer).
Visual check of tightness at the refrigerant circuit versus of leak of oil at the region of the compressor supply pipe
and condenser supply pipe (suction pipe, pressure pipe).
Check the condenser surface and heat exchanger surface as well as the refrigerant pipes for corrosion damages.
Check mounting of all pipes and components for fixed connection.
Visual test of the tightness of the water circuits in the operating range (blue seal lacquer).
Check availability of the operating manual at the cooling machine
