How to fix low output level using speaker level inputs on Klipsch SW12-I?
    • H
      Heather WilliamsJul 31, 2025
If you experience a low output level when using speaker level inputs on your Klipsch Amplifier, first check the inputs for correct polarity from the source. Also, check R79 and R80 which should read 91K, check U13, and ensure proper signal flow using the schematic.

Why does my Klipsch Amplifier blow a fuse with nothing connected?
    • A
      Aaron BrewerAug 7, 2025
If your Klipsch Amplifier blows a fuse even when nothing is connected to the output, you should: * Check the output transistors on the power board and replace any that are shorted. * Check the driver transistors on the filter/driver board and replace any that are shorted. * Check U7 and U9 for shorts. * Check the bridge rectifier in the power supply circuit. * Check the transformer. * Check the filter capacitors C21, C22, C23, C24, C44, C45, C46, and C47. * Check for pinched wires going to and coming from the transformer.

What to do if my Klipsch Amplifier quits working after a short period?
    • J
      Jonathan JohnsonAug 12, 2025
If your Klipsch Amplifier stops working after a short time, it may be due to excessive heat on the heat sink, which indicates a bad output device or a bad thermal switch. You should also check the output relay (RLY1) and U11 and U12.

Why does my Klipsch SW12-I Amplifier have excessive hum?
    • T
      Tracy JohnsonAug 18, 2025
Excessive hum in your Klipsch Amplifier can be addressed by checking all ground connections and all filter capacitors, including C21, C22, C23, C24, C44, C45, C46, and C47.

What to do if Klipsch SW12-I is causing popping sound?
    • D
      Dr. Julia RhodesAug 25, 2025
If your Klipsch Amplifier is making a popping sound: 1. Connect the amplifier output to a 16 ohm load. 2. Apply a 60mVrms 30Hz signal to one RCA jack. The voltage across the load should be between 32.1 Vrms and 34 Vrms for SW12, or between 29.1 Vrms and 30 Vrms for SW15. For the THX amp, apply a 3Vrms 70Hz signal to one RCA jack. The voltage across the load should be between 35.1 Vrms and 36 Vrms. If the voltage was too high, re-align the amplifier per procedure. If the signal was clipped, re-adjust the amplifier per alignment procedure.
