    Why does my Kobalt KMS 1040-03 Trimmer stop while cutting?

      If your Kobalt Trimmer stops while cutting, it could be due to several reasons. First, the motor shaft or trimmer head might be bound with grass; in this case, stop the trimmer, remove the battery pack, and clear any grass. Second, the motor may be overloaded; try cutting no more than 8 inches of grass in a single pass, then remove the trimmer head from the grass and restart the tool. Third, the battery pack or string trimmer might be too hot; release the trigger switch, allow the tool to cool down, and then restart it. Finally, the guard might not be mounted, causing an overly long cutting line and overload; remove the battery pack and attach the guard to the trimmer.

      If the trimmer head of your Kobalt Trimmer won't advance the cutting line, first, stop the trimmer, remove the battery pack, and clean the trimmer head, as it might be bound with grass. Second, the spool might not have enough line. Remove the battery pack and replace the cutting line.
