What does it mean when my Kold-Draft GB106 Ice Maker says 'Ice Bin Full'?
    • K
      Kenneth MartinAug 28, 2025
This is a normal condition for the Kold-Draft Ice Maker, which indicates that the bin is full. However, if Code 90 is indicated, but the bin is not full, check for a faulty bin probe, bad wiring to the bin probe, or a faulty controller board. To resolve, repair the wiring, replace the bin probe, or replace the controller.

What happens if the water plate on my Kold-Draft GB106 Ice Maker fails to close after three attempts?
    • D
      Donald SalazarSep 2, 2025
After three attempts to close, the Kold-Draft Ice Maker goes into a 30-minute shutdown, with the plate open. It will repeat this routine (with the plate closing 3 times and then a 30-minute wait) four times, before going out on Code 20. The Code 20 LED will flash as this routine is in process and then light solid after the routine tries 4 times and ends Code 20.

Why does my Kold-Draft GB106 take so long to freeze?
    • T
      Teresa HarrisNov 7, 2025
If the Kold-Draft Ice Maker's freeze time exceeds 60 minutes, it could be due to several reasons. There might not be enough air or liquid flowing through the condenser. Alternatively, the low-level (harvest) probe could be shorted or touching the side of the glass tube. Other potential causes include an inoperative water pump, a refrigeration problem, a bad contactor, an inlet water valve stuck open, the controller not shutting off the water valve, or a hot gas valve stuck partially open. To address this, try the following: * Reset the high-pressure safety, if tripped, and clean the condenser on air-cooled units. Check the water/coolant supply on liquid-cooled units. * Check and repair any shorted wiring to the low-level probe, or gently move it away from the glass surface. * Unplug...

Why is the harvest cycle on my Kold-Draft GB106 Ice Maker so long?
    • S
      sgutierrezNov 12, 2025
If the Kold-Draft Ice Maker's harvest cycle exceeds 20 minutes, several issues could be the cause. The evaporator temperature probe might be out of adjustment or defective. The actuator motor may not be raising or lowering the water plate. The controller could be defective. The arms-down switch might be stuck open or closed. The hot gas valve may not be opening. During harvest, the evaporator probe might be out of adjustment or defective. Finally, there could be a bad contactor. To resolve this: * Adjust the evaporator probe pot clockwise to a colder setting so the water plate returns to the closed position about 5 seconds after the ice releases. If the evaporator probe is unresponsive and the actuator motor is operational, replace the evaporator probe. * Replace the actuator motor i...

What to do if Kold-Draft GB106 Ice Maker water fill exceeds 5 min?
    • J
      James MunozNov 17, 2025
If the water fill time exceeds 5 minutes in your Kold-Draft Ice Maker, it could be due to a few reasons. The water supply might be off, or there could be a major leak in the water tank or lines. An external water filter could be plugged. The water solenoid valve might be inoperative. The upper (short) probe or the common (longest) probe in the water-level probe assembly could have a loose wire connection. Alternatively, the controller might be faulty. To troubleshoot: * Turn on the water supply or check for leaks. * Replace, bypass, or eliminate the external water filter. * Place the machine in Wash Mode and pull down on the water plate. The water valve will energize to fill until the short probe is reached. If the water solenoid valve has power and water but doesn't open, replace t...

How to fix Kold-Draft GB106 Ice Maker evaporator temp over 120F?
    • R
      ricardo12Nov 21, 2025
If the evaporator temperature in your Kold-Draft Ice Maker goes over 120F, here's what might be happening and how to address it: * **Bad Evaporator Probe:** A shorted evaporator probe or its wiring could be the issue. Repair or replace the wiring, or replace the probe. * **Hot Gas Valve Stuck Open:** If the cuber is stuck in an extended harvest mode, the hot gas valve might be stuck open. Pull down the water plate and check if the hot gas valve closes after the water plate closes. Repeat with the power to the hot gas valve coil disconnected. If the hot gas valve doesn't close, replace it. * **Bad Control Board:** A faulty control board could be the culprit. Replace the control board. * **Actuator Motor Issues:** If the actuator motor won't raise the water plate, the hot gas valve ...
