Usage Features:
The air conditioner can be operated via a control panel on the unit or a remote control.
- Control Panel Operations:
- On/Off: Powers the unit on or off. Features an auto-restart function that restores previous settings after a power interruption, with a 3-minute compressor delay.
- Temperature Adjustment: Allows setting the desired temperature between 62°F (17°C) and 86°F (30°C). Can display temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius.
- Fan Speeds: Four settings: Auto, Low, Medium, High. Fan speed is automatically controlled in Dry, Auto, and Heat modes.
- Operating Modes:
- Cool Mode: Cools the room to maintain the set temperature. Includes a 3-minute delay for the compressor to prevent overheating.
- Heat Mode: Heats the room to maintain the set temperature. Fan speed is not adjustable in this mode. Intended for supplemental heating.
- Auto Mode: Automatically switches between Cool, Fan, and Heat modes to maintain the set temperature. Fan speed is not manually adjustable. The control panel display will not indicate mode changes, but the AUTO indicator remains illuminated.
- Fan Only Mode: Circulates room air without cooling or heating. Temperature is not adjusted.
- Dry Mode: Operates as a dehumidifier, with some degree of cooling occurring.
- Energy Saver Feature: Available in Cool, Dry, and Auto modes. The fan runs for 3 minutes after the compressor shuts off, then cycles on for 2 minutes at 10-minute intervals until the room temperature rises above the set temperature.
- Sleep Feature: Gradually adjusts the set temperature (increases for cooling, decreases for heating) by 2°F (1°C) over two 30-minute intervals, maintaining the new temperature for 6 hours before reverting to original settings.
- Timer (Auto Start/Stop): Allows programming the unit to turn on or off at a specified time, adjustable in ½-hour increments up to 10 hours, and 1-hour increments up to 24 hours.
- Check Filter Feature: An LED light illuminates after 250 hours of operation to remind the user to clean the air filter.
- Digital Display: Shows set temperature, auto-timer settings, and room temperature in Fan Only mode.
- Error Codes: Displays codes like AS (Room temperature sensor error), ● (Evaporator temperature sensor error), and HS (Electric Heating sensor error) to indicate issues.
- Air Directional Louvers: 4-way adjustable louvers allow directing airflow up, down, left, and right.
- Remote Operations: The remote control has an operating range of 16 feet and a 180-degree radius in front of the unit. It duplicates most control panel functions, including On/Off, Mode selection, Temperature adjustment, Timer, Fan Speed, Energy Saver, and Sleep. Direct sunlight can interfere with the infrared signal.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is crucial for maximizing performance and efficiency.
- Air Filter Cleaning: The air filter should be checked at least once a month. It can be removed, washed with liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water, rinsed thoroughly, and dried before re-insertion. A vacuum can also be used for gentle cleaning. The "Check Filter" light on the control panel serves as a reminder.
- Cabinet Cleaning: The cabinet and front can be dusted with an oil-free cloth or washed with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and mild dishwashing detergent. Harsh cleaners, wax, or polish should not be used. Care should be taken to wring excess water from the cloth when wiping around controls to prevent damage.
- General Maintenance: The manual advises performing routine maintenance and inspecting air filters regularly. It also suggests waiting at least 3 minutes before turning the unit back on after shutting it off to prolong compressor life.
