STARTING TORQUES FOR STANDARD NUTS AND BOLTS
Strength class
8.8
Unless stated otherwise, metric bolts of strength class 8.8 and nuts of
strength class 8 are to be tightened to torque settings as quoted in the
table below.
The starting torque depends on the diameter of the thread (a) and wrench
size (b) for the nuts and bolts.
If nuts or bolts are being changed, always use original parts of the same
quality and dimension as the part being replaced.
