The device also offers simplified Bluetooth® pairing and connection via Near-Field Communication (NFC).

Usage Features:

The Konftel 70 features a touch keypad with several buttons and LED indicators for intuitive operation.

  • Touch Buttons:

    • Power: Switches the speakerphone on and off.
    • Mute: Mutes and unmutes the microphone.
    • Volume Up/Down: Adjusts the speakerphone volume.
    • Off Hook/Answer: Indicates off-hook status, answers incoming calls, and puts active calls on hold.
    • On Hook/Hang Up: Indicates on-hook status, ends calls, and rejects incoming calls.
    • Bluetooth®: Indicates active Bluetooth® connection and manages pairing.
  • LED Status Indicators:

    • Steady Red: Microphones are muted.
    • Flashing Red: A call is on hold.

  • Connectivity Priority: The Konftel 70 prioritizes connections in the following order: Bluetooth® calls, USB calls, Bluetooth® audio streaming, and USB audio streaming. When a call is made or taken, music mode automatically turns off, and the device functions as a conference unit.

  • Connecting to a Computer: Connect the Konftel 70 to a computer via USB. The computer's operating system usually recognizes it as an Echo Cancelling Speakerphone, providing full-duplex audio, echo cancellation, and noise reduction. If not automatically selected, it can be manually chosen in computer settings. The device automatically switches to music mode for one-way audio streams.

  • Cable Retention: A retention mechanism prevents accidental disconnection of USB and power cables, ensuring continuous data communication and battery charging.

  • Bluetooth® Connection: Supports two-way transmission optimized for speech and one-way A2DP transmission for music.

    • Pairing with NFC: Enable NFC on your Bluetooth® host, unlock its screen, and hold it near the NFC tag on Konftel 70 (within two centimeters). The Bluetooth® LED flashes blue during pairing and becomes steady blue upon connection.
    • Pairing without NFC: Turn on Bluetooth® on your host, press and hold the Konftel 70's Bluetooth button for two seconds. The device becomes discoverable (Bluetooth® LED flashes blue). Select "Konftel 70" on your host to pair. The LED turns steady blue after successful pairing. If no pairing occurs within 60 seconds, repeat the process.
    • Reconnecting Paired Devices: Simply turn on Bluetooth® on your host and press the Konftel 70's Bluetooth button when within range (approx. 20 meters).
  • Speakerphone Operations:

    • Answering Incoming Calls: Press the Answer button. Call status LEDs show steady green. To reject, press Hang Up.
    • Adjusting Volume: Use Volume Up/Down buttons.
    • Muting Microphone: Press the Mute button. LEDs show steady red when muted, green when unmuted.
    • Transferring Bluetooth Call: Press the Bluetooth button to transfer a call between the Konftel 70 and your Bluetooth® host.
    • Putting Call on Hold: During an active call, press the Answer button. LEDs flash red. Press again to resume.
    • Ending Calls: Press the Hang Up button. Green LEDs turn off.
  • Power Modes:

    • Hibernate Mode: Negligible power consumption, white power LED off. Activated after 30 minutes of inactivity on battery power, or by pressing Off Hook for 2 seconds.
    • Idle Mode: Operates on battery, USB, or DC power without Bluetooth® or USB connections. White power LED is on. Entered from hibernate by pressing Off Hook for 2 seconds, or connecting USB/power adapter.
    • Standby Mode: Operates on battery, USB, or DC power with active Bluetooth® or USB connection but not active usage. Entered from idle by connecting a Bluetooth® or USB host.
    • Active Operation Mode: Operates on battery, USB, or DC power during an active call or music playback.
    • Power Off State: Occurs when the battery is completely discharged. Warns with audio alarms at 25% and 10% charge levels.
  • Power Supply Priority: The device prioritizes power sources in this order: Battery, Power adapter, USB power. It can start up even with a discharged battery if connected to DC or USB power.

  • Battery Pack: Integrated and non-replaceable.

    • Charging Time: Approximately 3.5 hours with power adapter, 15 hours with USB Type A cable.
    • Battery Life: Up to 9 hours in active operation, up to 17 hours in standby/Bluetooth® connected mode. Konftel 70 works for over 1.5 years in hibernate mode.

Maintenance Features:

  • Firmware Upgrade: Firmware can be upgraded using the Konftel Upgrade Utility via a USB-connected PC (Windows® or MacOS®).

    1. Go to konftel.com/en/support to download the utility.
    2. Install the utility.
    3. Ensure Konftel 70 is on, in Idle mode (no audio), and connected to the internet (or power adapter if battery is low).
    4. Connect Konftel 70 to the computer via USB.
    5. Start the utility, select Konftel 70, and click Next.
    6. Follow connection requirements and click Next.
    7. Select "Upgrade to the latest firmware using automatic download from Konftel" and click Next.
    8. Click Install. The process takes 3-5 minutes. Do not disconnect the device or computer.
    9. The call status LEDs flash red during installation.
    10. The speakerphone reboots when done. Click Finish.
  • Hardware Reset: To reset Konftel 70 to default settings, press the Power touch button for more than 8 seconds.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Not for emergency calls during power failure.
  • Read and follow all instructions.
  • Do not place on unstable surfaces.
  • Avoid dropping, knocking, or shaking.
  • Ensure power cord/plug is undamaged.
  • Do not overload wall outlets/extension cords.
  • Avoid wetting the device.
  • Unplug before cleaning; use a damp cloth, no harsh chemicals.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures (above 40°C/104°F, below 0°C/32°F) or high humidity.
  • Do not block ventilation slots.
  • Do not push objects into cabinet slots.
  • Do not disassemble.
  • Do not use near gas leaks, intensive care medical equipment, or pacemakers.
  • Avoid placing near answering machines, TVs, radios, computers, and microwave ovens to prevent interference.
  • Refer damaged devices to qualified service personnel.
