2.4 View Boxes and Viewing Conditions (Technologist)
2.4.1 Test Objective
To follow the guidance given in the "Mammography Quality Control Manual" (ACR, 1999) Radiologic Technologist
section procedure 9.
2.4.2 Frequency
• Initially before interpreting mammograms
• WEEKLY
• Whenever a problem related to the viewing condition is suspected
2.4.3 Required Equipment
• Non woven lint free cloth

Corrective Action: Follow the guidance given in the "Mammography Quality Control Manual" (ACR, 1999) Radiologic
Technologist section procedure 9.
The source of the problem shall be identied and corrective action shall be taken before further mammographic im-
age interpretation is performed under these conditions. Patient imaging may be continued.
2.4.6 Documentation
Record this activity in the Table RT-S1 (TECHNOLOGIST'S MAMMOGRAPHY QC TEST SUMMARY: Daily and
Weekly Tests) or use the worksheets and forms referenced in the "Mammography Quality Control Manual" (ACR,
1999) Radiologic Technologist section procedure 9.
