FI DISK PROTECT (SET/RESET)
I A b o u t the d is k protect (set/reset) fu n ction
■ This is one w ay of protecting the inform ation on a disk
from accidental erasure or change. You SET this to
protect a disk {i.e. prevent erasure or change). You
RESET it to return to norm al and allow erasure or
change.

■ Note that if a disk is protected then you can not save
data to it* You can always retrieve (read) data from a
disk no m atter w hat its PR O TEC T status.
Caution:
This function gives no protection against disk for- i
m atting using the FO FO RM AT DISK function. For- j
m atting w ipes out everything. For protection ;
against accidental form atting, you m ust set the
physical w rite protect tab {read-only tab) on the i
disk so that the hole is open. See the section on '
W RITE PROTECT. !
