7.8 Engine lubrication system
Important safety instructions regarding the engine lubrication system
CAUTION
Injury hazard due to hot and moving engine parts!
Hot and moving engine parts can cause injury.
Do not open the engine cover if the engine is running.
Let the engine cool down.
Wear protective equipment.
CAUTION
Burn hazard due to hot engine oil!
Splashes of hot oil can cause burns to the skin.
Let the engine cool down.
Wear protective clothes.
NOTICE
Loss of output and engine damage due to wrong engine-oil level, and
wrong or used engine oil.
Observe the intervals for engine-oil and filter replacement.
If indicator light 70
on the indicating instrument illuminates, check the
engine-oil level immediately.
Check the engine-oil level regularly and add oil if necessary.
If the engine oil is used (black), have the oil immediately changed by
an authorised service centre.
Observe the specifications and fill quantities.
Follow the safety instructions and country-specific regulations when
handling lube oil!
Dispose of drained oil correctly. Do not allow used oil to seep into the
ground!
Perform a test run every time work has been performed!
Check for leaks and correct lube oil pressure, and then check the lube
oil level in the diesel engine!
