18.4.37 Disassembling the main shaft

- Secure the main s haft in the vi se with the gear teeth facing downward.
Guide lin e
Use soft jaws.
- Remove stop disk
0 and second-gear fixed gear 8 .
- Remove sixth-gear idler gear CD .
- Remove the s plit needle bearing 8 and stop disk 0 .
- Remo ve l ock ring (D .
- Remo ve third /fourth-gear s liding gear fj .
- Remove l ock ring ~ -
- Remove stop disk 0 and fifth -gear idler gear 41) .
- Remove spl it needle bearing 48 .
