Compression Pressure
1.
After warming up the engine, stop
it
and remove
the
air
cleaner, the muffler and
all
nozzle holders.
2. Install
a
compression tester (Code No: 07909-
30208) for diesel engines to nozzle holder hole.
3.
After making sure that the speed control lever
is
set
at
the stop position (Non-injection), run the
engine
at
200
to 300 r.p.m. with the starter.
4.
Read the maximum pressure. Measure the
pressure more than twice.
5.
If
the measurement
is
below the allowable limit,
check the cylinder, piston ring,
top
clearance, valve
and cylinder head.
NOTE
Variances in cylinder compression values should
be under
10%.
TOD
Clearance
1.
Remove the cylinder head (then don‘t attmpt to
remove the cylinder head gasket).
2.
Bring the piston to
its
top dead center fasten
1.5
mm dia.
5
to 7 mm long fuse wires to 3 to
4
spots
on the piston top
with
grease
so
as
to avoid the
intake and exhaust valves and the combustion
chamber ports.
3.
Bring the piston
to
its
bottom dead center, install
the cylinder head, and tighten the cylinder head
bolts to specification.
4.
Turn the crank shaft until
the
piston exceeds
its
top dead center.
5.
Remove the cylinder head, and measure squeezed
fuse wires for thickness.
6.
If
the measurement
is
not within the specified
value, check the oil clearance
of
the crankpin
journal and the piston pin.
