The key switch has 4 positions. The terminal "BAT"
is connected to the battery.
The key released at the "PREHEAT" position
returns to the
"OFF" position. And it released at the
"START" position returns
to the "ON" position.

While the key switch is turned and held at the
"PREHEAT" position, the current
is supplied to the
glow plugs through the lamp timer.
