Every 200 hours or at the end of the season
Lateral gearbox draining
- Remove dipstick plug (1).
- Place a container with a capacity of at
least 1.5 L (0.4 US gal) under plug.
- Remove drain plug (2).
- Allow oil to drain completely.
- Wait for dripping to stop.
- Clean and reinstall drain plug (2).
- Pour the correct oil quantity and quality through the
opening of dipstick plug (1).
- Check lateral gearbox oil level:
• The "MAX" level corresponds to the mark on the
dipstick plug.
• The "MIN" level corresponds to the end of the
disptick plug.
Before draining oil, operate the cutterbar for a
few minutes so that the oil warms up.

The lateral gearbox is lubricated with 0.7 L (0.18 US gal) litre(s) SAE 80W grade SHELL oil (extreme
pressure) for mechanical transmissions.
When draining and refilling, it is recommended to use either a mineral base oil with viscosity grade
SAE 80W and API grade GL4, or a synthetic base oil, type PAO (Poly-Alpha-Olefins) with a viscosity
grade equivalent to SAE 80W.
In certain countries SAE 80W GL4 oil may not be available. In this case a GL4 or GL5 grade
SAE 80W90 oil is an acceptable substitute for GL4 SAE 80W oil.
