Why is my KUHN GMD240 Farm Equipment leaving uneven stubble?
    • R
      Ryan CarlsonAug 5, 2025
Uneven stubble can result from several factors. It could be due to dull or broken knives, in which case you should replace them. Ensure knives are installed correctly, with the arrow on the knife's upper face pointing in the disc's direction of rotation. Insufficient disk speed, often caused by loose belt tension, can also be a factor, so check the belt tension. Verify that the PTO speed is at the correct rotational frequency of 540 min-1. Lastly, a cutter bar pitch angle that is too high can cause this issue, so reduce the angle.

What to do if KUHN Farm Equipment has bad ground contour adaptation?
    • R
      robertsaustinAug 10, 2025
Poor ground contour adaptation may arise from several reasons. Start by adjusting the main frame height with regards to the ground, as an incorrect setting can cause issues. Excessive ground speed can also hinder adaptation, so reduce your speed. Ensure the hydraulic valve is in the floating position to prevent a blocked hydraulic cylinder. Check and adjust the compensating spring tension if it's incorrectly adjusted. Finally, inspect the cutter bar pivot bushes for wear or seizure; grease if necessary, and replace them if required.

How to fix stubble that is too long with KUHN GMD240?
    • D
      Daniel PenaAug 14, 2025
If the stubble is too long, it might be caused by an incorrect cutter bar pitch angle; modify the pitch angle using the top link. Another potential cause is the machine being too light, so adjust the compensating spring tension and check the frame position.

What to do if there is soil build up in front of the cutterbar of KUHN GMD240?
    • C
      Connor VillegasAug 20, 2025
Soil build-up in front of the cutterbar can be attributed to a couple of reasons. If there's too much cutterbar down pressure, adjust the compensating spring tension. In very wet working conditions, adjust the main frame height with regards to the ground and consider fitting raised skid shoes.

Why does KUHN GMD240 have too frequent safety breakback release?
    • T
      Tiffany AdamsAug 26, 2025
Too frequent safety breakback release is likely due to insufficient spring washer compression. Increase the spring washer compression to resolve this.

How to increase ground clearance in headland turn position on KUHN GMD240?
    • D
      Deborah GrahamAug 30, 2025
If there's insufficient ground clearance during headland turns, it could be because the headland turn position valve shuts off too early. Adjust the limiter adjustment screw to correct this.
