Overview

This document describes the Kverneland CLC PRO, CLC PRO CLASSIC, and CLC PRO CUT machines, which are agricultural cultivators designed for soil cultivation. These machines are considered interchangeable equipment within the meaning of European directive 2006/42/EC and agricultural equipment under ASABE S390.

Function Description

The CLC PRO series machines are primarily used for cultivating farmland. They are designed to mix and incorporate straw debris into the earth, prepare seedbeds, and manage plant residues. The CLC PRO CUT models specifically feature front cutting discs (FCD) or front mixer discs (FMD) to cut long, abundant plant debris and prevent blockages, enhancing their performance in challenging conditions. The machines can be configured with various rear accessories and rollers to achieve different levels of compaction, crumbling, leveling, and depth control.

Usage Features

The machine is designed for ease of use and versatility in various agricultural conditions.

  • Adjustments: The working depth of the stubble tines and leveling systems is controlled by the rear roller and/or optional depth control wheels. Perforated plates allow for easy adjustment of working depth.
  • Coulter Range: A wide range of coulters and blades are available, allowing users to select the most suitable option for specific soil types and desired working depths, optimizing fuel consumption and performance.
  • Deflector Range: Spiral deflectors can be equipped on lateral tines or all tines to improve mixing and leveling quality. Their distribution can be adapted during commissioning and inverted to fine-tune soil flow.
  • Hitching: Detailed instructions are provided for safe hitching of both rigid and folding machines, emphasizing the importance of correct tractor hydraulic settings and secure locking mechanisms.
  • Transport: Folding machines are designed for compact transport on public roads, with specific instructions for folding, securing components, and ensuring compliance with road safety regulations, including signaling and lighting. The working depth of rollers must be set at its minimum level during transport.
  • Switching On: Safety instructions emphasize checking the work zone for personnel, ensuring tines are not blocked, and exercising caution on slopes due to changes in the machine's center of gravity.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the machine's longevity and safe operation.

  • General Maintenance: Includes cleaning, lubrication, and storage guidelines. High-pressure cleaning should be used carefully, avoiding bearings, hydraulic hoses, and electrical boxes.
  • Greasing: Greasing points are clearly indicated, with recommended frequencies (each day, every 40 hours, or each year) for various components like folding cylinders, discs, double tube/roller/bar, tandem disc bearings, and wheels.
  • Wear Rings: Wear rings must be changed when they stop protecting adjacent parts. Regular checks for play in articulations are recommended, and significant play indicates the need for replacement.
  • Inspection: Regular checks for tight bolts, correct tire pressures, and good condition of the hydraulic circuit are essential. Specific tightening torques are provided for various screw assemblies.
  • Replacing Tines: Instructions are provided for safely replacing rigid tines and tines with blade springs, emphasizing the importance of not loosening more than one spring at a time and using appropriate tools.
  • Coulter Wear: Regular checks for wear on coulters, tine protection, and deflectors are necessary. Worn coulters should be replaced. Knock-on coulters have specific dismantling and assembly procedures using a Knock-on tool to prevent injury from projected metallic fragments.
  • Wearing of Knife Skids on Actipack and Actiring: Regular checks and replacement of worn knife skids are necessary to prevent loss of parts during operation.
  • Wearing of Leveling Blades on Actiflex: Regular checks and replacement of worn leveling blades are necessary.
  • Hydraulic System Parts Replacement: Any action on the hydraulic system must be performed by a trained and certified technician, with strict safety precautions regarding pressure reduction and system immobilization.
  • Scrapping: Guidelines for environmentally responsible disposal of metal parts, tires, and hydraulic fluid are provided.
