Operation
Update the databases as follows:
1. With no power applied to the unit.
2. Insert a MicroSD card loaded with a database les (named 68.bin
and 71.bin) in the slot on the front of the unit.
3. Apply power to the unit.
4. Press the Menu button if the Acknowledge page (if applicable) is
shown.
5. Rotate the knob until Database load is highlighted and press the
knob.
6. A ‘Load a new database?’ conrmation message is shown on the
screen. Press the knob to Conrm.
An error message (Install Count Exceeded) is shown if the
database has reached its maximum number of downloads.
An error message (Error Reading JSC File) is shown
if there is an error reading the Jeppesen security le.
The Jeppesen security le is a le that accompanies the database
on the card and contains information about the database. If
this error message occurs, a new database download may be
required.”
7. The unit automatically cycles power and enters the Database
Loading as indicated on the top of the screen.
8. Rotate the knob to highlight the desired database and press the
knob to select.
When loading the database les to a MicroSD card the Obstacle/
Navigation database must be named “68.bin” and the Terrain database
must be named “71.bin”. Note - The database les must be copied to
the root directory (i.e. not in a folder) to the MicroSD card.
NOTE
The 68DC 8010-22320-0001 and 71DC 8010-23009-
0001 part numbers are used by L3 Aviation Products for
identication purposes only. Jeppesen Order Codes are
DLN524 for 68DC and DLN572 for 71DC.
