Working with a Rotary Carousel Automation & Robotics
Display the Motion window and using the single (low-speed) or double (high-speed) arrows of the 6.
Carousel, make the displayed carousel rotate in both directions.
Create a program that will make the platter of the carousel rotate 1807. ° in the clockwise direction,
and then return to the initial (home) position and stop. Use the command icons CHANNEL and
RCHANNEL to make the carousel rotate.
Save the program as “Carousel and your last name”. Test and debug your program.8.
On the work surface, now place the metallic can and the lm canister, as shown on the previous 9.
page.
You will now simulate a galvanizing process where the surface of an iron or steel work piece is dipped
into a bath of molten zinc to prevent corrosion, then moved to a carousel workstation, rotated, and nally
returned to its initial location.
Create a program that will make the robot perform the following tasks in sequence:10.
Grasp the lm canister placed at the starting point (R9, C10).a.
Raise it above the work surface and move it over the metallic can.b.
Lower the lm canister a certain distance within the can, then withdraw it and move it over the c.
starting point on the carousel platter.
Place the lm canister on the carousel platter, and then rotate the platter by 270d. ° clockwise (in
front of the microswitch). Use the CHANNEL command icon.
Grasp the lm canister and return it to the starting point. e.
Save the program as “Carousel GALV and your last name”. 11.
Test and debug your program. 12.
When you are nished, complete the Shutdown Procedure. 13.
Shutdown Procedure
Make sure there is nothing inside of the robot gripper. If an object is in the gripper, open it to release 1.
the object.
Clear the area around the robot.2.
Execute a soft home positioning by selecting Soft Home in the Motion menu of the menu bar.3.
Set the mode to Simulation.4.
Turn off the power supply.5.
Ask your instructor if the equipment should be disconnected. If yes, disconnect the system and 6.
return the equipment to its storage location.
