 Flat, level surface space to accommodate each component’s footprint with a
minimum 6" clearance on top, back, and sides.
Proper Electrical Supply
 Each cabinet must have a dedicated single-phase non-GFCI circuit.
 115V models
o A 15 Amp outlet is required for:
 3' and 4' Type A2 models (8" and 10" sash opening)
 4' and 6' Type B2 models (all sash openings)
 Plug Type: NEMA 5-15P
o A 20 Amp outlet is required for:
 4', 5', and 6' Type A2 models (12" sash opening)
 5' and 6' Type A2 models (8" and 10" sash openings)
 4' and 6' Type C1 models (all sash openings)
 Plug Type: NEMA 5-20P
 230V models
o Receptacle that matches the plug supplied with the unit
Unpackaging
Thoroughly inspect packaging to ensure damage did not occur during shipping.
 Document any damage by taking 4 photos of the package before unpackaging.
 Unpack the Biosafety Cabinet (BSC) and thoroughly inspect it for damage that may
have occurred in transit.
o If there is damage, notify the delivery carrier immediately and retain the
entire shipment intact for inspection by the carrier. The United States
Interstate Commerce Commission rules require that claims be filed with the
delivery carrier within fifteen (15) days of delivery.
