Lamborghini Precognition
The Precognition functions are able to warn the driver in certain dangerous situations, for example collision hazards, and make interventions on the
vehicle systems to prepare the occupants for the collision or even try to avoid it.
Depending on the vehicle configuration, Precognition may operate by activating audible and visual warnings to attract the attention of the driver and
other road users. It can also pretension the seat belts, inflate the sides of the seats and close the windows and the panoramic roof in order to increase
the safety of the passengers in the event of a collision. Under certain conditions, it can operate the brake to warn the driver and help them stop the
vehicle, or intervene with the steering to help avoid obstacles.
Precognition Basic is activated at around 19 mph (30 km/h) and intervenes in the event of harsh braking or when the ESC operates.
Precognition Front is activated at 6 mph (10 km/h) and is able to warn of the presence of pedestrians or cyclists and to brake
the vehicle up to a speed of 53 mph (85 km/h); it can also warn of the presence of other vehicles and brake the vehicle up to
a speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Precognition
Rear is active even with the vehicle stopped, and intervenes when it detects a danger of a collision
with the rear (side) area(s) of the vehicle.
Precognition
Side is active even with the vehicle stopped, and intervenes when it detects a danger of
a collision with the side of the vehicle.
Turn Assist operates when driving off, up to a maximum speed of 6 mph (10 km/h) by
applying the brakes to avoid collisions with oncoming vehicles when making a left or
right turn (depending on the country).
Collision Avoidance Assist is activated between approx. 19 mph (30
km/h) and 93 mph (150 km/h), and helps the driver avoid obstacles by
intervening on the steering to assist the manoeuvre.
Emergency Assist
When adaptive driving assistance
and lane assist are active, if the
system detects that the driver has not
touched the pedals or the steering wheel
for around 15 seconds, it will gradually provide
visual, audible and tactile warnings to get their
attention. If the driver still does not take control
of the vehicle, the system will take ever-increasing
levels of control of the vehicle before bringing it to a stop,
activating the hazard warning lights and unlocking the doors
to facilitate the work of the emergency services.
