■ Appropriate protective equipment is required when removing the mufer (Fig. 51).
■ The cylinder ns and housings should be checked periodically and cleaned to help prevent the
engine from overheating. Check the cylinder exhaust, piston, and piston ring for carbon build up.
NOTE:
Do not allow the carbon deposit to fall into the cylinder when removing the buildup (Fig. 52).

Electric Starter Replacement

■ Remove the rear engine cover, connection cover, clutch and front engine cover refer to step 5-9 in
Ignition System section.
■ Turn over the front engine cover to show the upper engine cover. Remove the 4 screws by turning
the Phillips screwdriver counter-clockwise to remove the upper engine cover (Fig. 53 & 54).
