■ Appropriate protective equipment is required when removing the mufer (Fig. 51).
■ The cylinder ns and housings should be checked periodically and cleaned to help prevent the
engine from overheating. Check the cylinder exhaust, piston, and piston ring for carbon build up.
NOTE:
Do not allow the carbon deposit to fall into the cylinder when removing the buildup (Fig. 52).

Electric Starter Replacement

■ Remove the rear engine cover, connection cover, clutch and front engine cover refer to step 5-9 in
Ignition System section.
■ Turn over the front engine cover to show the upper engine cover. Remove the 4 screws by turning
the Phillips screwdriver counter-clockwise to remove the upper engine cover (Fig. 53 & 54).
