14. Control Surface Configuration
14.2.2 Fader Assign Options
There are two ways in which sources can be assigned to fader strips:
·
Fixed assignments - where a source or summing bus is permanently assigned to a fader strip.
·
Flexible assignments - where operators can scroll through a pre-defined list of sources and summing
buses to make assignments from the fader strip.
Fixed Assignments
The Only Default and Default Source options can be used to permanently assign a source or summing bus to a
fader strip:
1. Double-click on the Fader Module you wish to configure from the Surface configuration, or open the
"Surface -> Fader Module" branch of the 'Tree Definition'.
2. Double-click in the Default Source 1.1 entry field to assign a default source for Layer 1 fader strip 1:
3. Repeat to assign a default source to each fader strip on the module:
·
Use fields 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 for Layer 1, strips 1 to 4
·
Use fields 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 for Layer 2, strips 1 to 4 (sapphire only).
These default assignments are loaded when the configuration is transferred, or the system is reset using a cold
start.
4. If there are some fader strips which you do not wish operator’s to re-assign (e.g. their microphone!),
then enable the Only Default option.
When Only Default is ticked, the Default Source is permanently assigned to the fader strip, and cannot be
removed or replaced.
