Questions and Answers

  • M
    Mr. Dennis MyersAug 10, 2025
What to do if there is no light output in response to the source ON command (serial or TTL) on Leica Laboratory Equipment (LED5/LED8 only)?
    • R
      Randall RussellAug 10, 2025
If there is no light output, verify that the liquid light guide is inserted in the light output receptacle, the external gate jumper is inserted in the front panel, and the control key is inserted in the front panel and turned to the “on” position. These three interlocks must be closed.
  • W
    Wendy HarperAug 14, 2025
Why are fluorescence signals unusually weak across all detection channels in Leica LED1?
    • C
      colsonAug 14, 2025
Weak fluorescence in all detection channels is likely due to poor light transmission by the liquid light guide, the collimating adaptor, or another distal component of the microscope optical path.

What to do if I see a high, spatially uniform fluorescence background on Leica LED1?
    • R
      robertstokesAug 20, 2025
Verify that the dichroic beamsplitter and emission bandpass filter in the microscope are compatible with the light engine excitation filter specifications shown on the certificate of conformance.
  • F
    Fernando WoodsAug 25, 2025
What to do if Leica LED1 Laboratory Equipment shows unusually weak fluorescence signals in a single detection channel (e.g. DAPI)?
    • T
      Thomas WardAug 25, 2025
Check that the dichroic beamsplitter and emission bandpass filter in the microscope are compatible with light engine excitation filter specifications shown on the certificate of conformance.
  • G
    greendanielAug 29, 2025
How to fix no response to TTL trigger commands on Leica Laboratory Equipment?
    • M
      Melissa TurnerAug 29, 2025
Ensure that TTL trigger inputs are polarity positive, and that serial ON/OFF controls (PC or Control POD) are set to OFF state.
  • D
    Donald JuarezSep 4, 2025
What to do if Leica Laboratory Equipment has no response to TTL trigger commands (LED1/3)?
    • R
      Robert CarlsonSep 4, 2025
The light output must be turned ON by either the manual light output switch (LED1 and LED3) or by the Leica POD (LED1) BEFORE applying the TTL control signal to the shutter.
