Overview

The Levoit Dual 200S Smart Top-Fill Humidifier is designed to improve air quality by adding moisture to the environment, making it more comfortable and healthy. This smart humidifier offers a range of features for convenient and effective operation, including remote control capabilities via the VeSync app, various mist settings, and an Auto Mode that intelligently maintains optimal humidity levels.

Function Description

The primary function of the Levoit Dual 200S is to humidify the air. It achieves this by releasing a fine mist into the room, which helps to alleviate issues caused by dry air, such as dry skin, irritated sinuses, and static electricity. The humidifier features a top-fill design, making it easy to refill the water tank without needing to remove it from the base. It also includes an essential oil chamber in the base, allowing for aromatherapy by diffusing pure essential oils into the mist. The smart capabilities, powered by VeSync, enable users to control the humidifier remotely, monitor humidity levels, and set schedules, enhancing user convenience and control over their indoor environment.

Usage Features

The Levoit Dual 200S offers several user-friendly features for operation:

  • Power Control: The humidifier can be turned on or off by pressing the power button. Upon activation, it automatically starts misting on high for 3 seconds before switching to a low mist setting.
  • Mist Level Adjustment: Users can cycle through different mist settings—Low, High, and Auto Mode—by repeatedly pressing the mist level button. This allows for customization based on personal preference and room conditions.
  • Auto Mode: This intelligent mode utilizes the humidifier's built-in sensor to automatically adjust the mist level or turn off the device to maintain a comfortable and healthy humidity level, typically between 40% and 50% relative humidity. The target humidity level can be customized via the VeSync app. By default, Auto Mode includes an "Automatic Stop" feature, which pauses misting once the target humidity is reached and resumes when the humidity drops below the set range. This feature can be toggled on or off through the VeSync app. If Automatic Stop is off, the humidifier will continue running on a low mist level even after the highest target humidity is reached.
  • Nozzle Rotation: The mist nozzle can be rotated to direct the mist away from walls, furniture, bedding, and appliances, preventing potential moisture damage.
  • Water Tank Refilling: The top-fill design simplifies refilling. Users remove the water tank cover by pulling the nozzle upward and then fill the tank with room-temperature water. It is recommended to use purified or distilled water and to avoid filling past the max water line. Crucially, water should never be added directly into the base chamber or through the mist tube, as this can damage the humidifier and cause leaks.
  • Aromatherapy: For an enhanced experience, 10–15 drops of pure essential oil can be added to the base chamber. This allows the humidifier to diffuse pleasant scents along with the mist.
  • Display Control: The humidifier's display can be turned off by pressing and holding the mist level button for 3 seconds. This action also automatically switches the mist level setting to Auto Mode.
  • No Water Indicator: The humidifier features a "No Water Indicator" that blinks when the water tank is empty or removed. After blinking 10 times, the humidifier automatically turns off, preventing damage from dry running.
  • VeSync App Integration: The VeSync app unlocks advanced smart functions, including:
    • Remote Control: Turn the humidifier on/off, cycle through mist levels, and activate/deactivate Auto Mode from a smartphone.
    • Display Lights Control: Turn the display lights on or off remotely.
    • Customizable Auto Mode: Adjust target humidity and auto-off settings.
    • Humidity Monitoring: Check current humidity levels in the humidifier's environment.
    • Timers & Schedules: Program individual timers or create recurring schedules for automated operation.
    • Third-Party Voice Control: Compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free control.
  • Wi-Fi Connection Management: The Wi-Fi indicator on the display shows the pairing status. Users can disconnect Wi-Fi by pressing and holding the power button for 15 seconds, which also resets the humidifier to its default settings. Reconnection is done via the VeSync app.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the Levoit Dual 200S. All maintenance should be performed on a water-resistant surface.

  • Daily Water Change: Change the water daily to prevent bacteria growth.
  • Regular Nozzle Cleaning: Use a tissue or cloth to clean the nozzle regularly.
  • Weekly Cleaning: The humidifier should be cleaned weekly, and before storing it for extended periods.
    1. Unplug and Disassemble: Always unplug the humidifier before cleaning. Remove the water tank cover, water tank, and water filter assembly.
    2. Empty Water: Pour out all water from the tank and base chamber. When pouring water from the base, hold down the float to prevent it from falling out.
    3. Rinse Parts: Rinse the tank, water filter assembly, and base chamber with room-temperature water.
    4. Descale: To remove mineral buildup (scale), first remove the water filter from the tank. Fill the tank with 3 US cups (710 mL) of distilled white vinegar. Replace the tank cover and swish the vinegar around. Place the tank on the base and let it soak for 15–20 minutes. The vinegar will drain into the base chamber, loosening scale from the tank, base chamber, transducer, and float.
    5. Remove Noise Silencer: Flip the tank over and remove the noise silencer by pressing its release tabs and gently pulling it away.
    6. Remove Float: Carefully remove the float from the base chamber by pulling up one end and sliding the shaft out from the U-shaped float brackets.
    7. Soak Small Parts: Place the float, water filter assembly, and noise silencer in a small container filled with enough vinegar to cover them, and soak for 15–20 minutes.
    8. Scrub and Rinse: Use a soft cloth and the included cleaning brush to remove scale from all parts. Rinse all parts thoroughly until any vinegar smell is completely gone.
    9. Dry and Reassemble: Dry all parts completely with a cloth before reassembling or storing. Ensure the noise silencer is placed back into the tank, the water filter assembly is rotated clockwise to secure it, and the float is correctly positioned with the smaller prong in the closed bracket side and the larger prong in the open (U-shaped) bracket side.
  • Storage: If not using the humidifier for a week or longer, ensure it is cleaned and completely dry before storing it in a cool, dry location.
  • Filter Assembly Replacement: If the water filter assembly is damaged or prevents water flow into the base chamber, it needs to be replaced.
