The Levoit Classic 300S Ultrasonic Smart Humidifier is designed to improve air quality by adding moisture to the environment, making it more comfortable and healthier. This smart humidifier can be controlled both manually and remotely via the VeSync app, offering a range of features for personalized use and convenience.
Function Description
The primary function of the Levoit Classic 300S is to generate a fine mist that humidifies the air. It operates using ultrasonic technology, which breaks water into a fine mist that is then dispersed into the room. The humidifier features multiple mist level settings, including Low, Medium, High, and an Auto Mode. In Auto Mode, the humidifier's built-in sensor automatically adjusts the mist level to maintain a comfortable relative humidity, typically between 40% and 50%. Users can customize the target humidity level and auto-off settings through the VeSync app.
The device also includes a Sleep Mode, which changes the mist setting to Auto Mode, turns off the display lights, and disables the night light for undisturbed rest. The night light itself has adjustable settings (50%, 100%, and Off) and can be controlled independently.
For aromatherapy, the humidifier features an aroma box where essential oils can be added to a pad, allowing the device to diffuse a light aroma into the room. It's important to note that essential oils should only be added to the aroma pad and not directly into the water tank or base chamber.
The smart capabilities of the Classic 300S are enhanced by the VeSync app, which allows for remote control of the humidifier. Users can turn the device on/off, cycle through mist levels, activate Auto Mode and Sleep Mode, and control the display lights and night light from their smartphone. The app also provides real-time monitoring of current humidity levels in the humidifier's environment and allows for setting up individual timers or schedules for automated operation. Furthermore, the humidifier is compatible with third-party voice control systems like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, enabling hands-free operation.
Usage Features
To get started, users must remove all packaging and tape, including any on the float, and clean the water tank and cover. The humidifier should be placed on a hard, flat, water-resistant surface at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from walls. The mist should be directed away from walls, furniture, bedding, and appliances to prevent damage.
Filling and refilling the humidifier involves removing the water tank cover and then the tank from the base. The tank should be filled with room-temperature purified or distilled water, ensuring not to exceed the max water line. Hot water should not be used. After filling, the tank and cover are replaced, making sure the nozzle is correctly aligned with the mist tube. It's crucial not to pour water directly into the base chamber or through the mist tube.
Operating the humidifier is straightforward: plug it in and tap the power button to turn it on. The mist level can be adjusted by repeatedly tapping the mist level button to cycle through Auto Mode, Low, Medium, and High. The nozzle can be rotated to direct the mist. Sleep Mode can be activated with a dedicated button, and the night light can be adjusted or turned off. The display lights can also be turned off by pressing and holding the night light button for 3 seconds.
If the water tank is empty or removed, the humidifier will stop misting, and the no water indicator will flash, prompting a refill.
For smart control, the VeSync app needs to be downloaded and set up. The app guides users through pairing the humidifier, which involves pressing and holding the power button for 5 seconds. The app allows for comprehensive control and customization of settings, including target humidity, schedules, and voice assistant integration. If the humidifier goes offline, troubleshooting steps include checking the power, refreshing the app, ensuring router connectivity, or resetting the humidifier.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is essential for the humidifier's optimal performance and longevity. All maintenance should be performed on a water-resistant surface. The water should be changed daily to prevent bacteria growth, and the nozzle should be cleaned regularly with a tissue or cloth. If the humidifier will not be used for 3 days or longer, it should be cleaned and dried thoroughly, not left with water inside.
Cleaning the humidifier involves unplugging it, removing and rinsing the water tank cover and dust cover. The water tank is then removed from the base, and any remaining water is poured out, holding down the float to prevent it from falling out. The water filter is removed by rotating it counterclockwise. The tank, water filter, and base chamber should be rinsed with room-temperature water.
To descale the humidifier, the water filter is removed, and the tank is filled with 3 US cups (710 mL) of distilled white vinegar. The tank cover is replaced, and the vinegar is swished around. The tank is then placed on the base to allow the vinegar to drain into the base chamber, soaking for 15-20 minutes to loosen mineral buildup from the tank, base chamber, transducer, and float. After soaking, the tank and cover are removed, and the vinegar is poured out.
The noise silencer is removed from the tank by pressing a release tab and gently pulling it away. The float is removed from the base chamber by pulling up the larger side and sliding the shaft out from the brackets. The float, water filter, and noise silencer are placed in a small container and soaked in vinegar for 15-20 minutes. All parts, including the base chamber, should be cleaned with a soft cloth and the included cleaning brush to remove any scale. Finally, all parts are rinsed until any vinegar smell is gone and dried completely before reassembling or storing.
The aroma pad should also be cleaned. It is removed from the aroma box and rinsed under warm, running water, then dried with a clean cloth and placed back into the aroma box. Liquid cleaners or detergents should not be poured into the aroma pad or box.
Reassembly involves placing the noise silencer back into the tank, rotating the water filter clockwise to secure it, and placing the float back into the base chamber, ensuring the correct side is facing up and the prongs are inserted into the float brackets. The tank is then refilled if necessary, and placed properly on the base with the tank cover.
For storage, the humidifier should be cleaned and all parts dried completely before being stored in a cool, dry location.
