7. OPERATION
7.1 Powering UP the UPS
Be sure that the UPS is connected to an acceptable commercial AC power
source. Please refer to the ‘Connecting the UPS to Commercial AC’
guidelines in the “INSTALLATION” section of this manual.
To power up the UPS turn on the Circuit breaker and the battery breaker at
the rear panel. The “LINE” and “BYPASS” indicators will be lighted. Switch
on the front panel “ON/OFF” switch. The “INVERTER” indicator will slowly
light up. After about 20 seconds, a click sound will be heard and the inverter
gets connected to the output terminals. The battery reserve and AC line
voltage are deemed to be acceptable if the front panel indicators indicate the
following :-
* No alarm conditions exist (No audible alarm is heard and the
FAULT LED is extinguished).
* Power is switched on normally (LINE and INVERTER indicators are
lighted).
* Battery reserve power is at or near maximum.
If no fault indicator is lighted upon activating the UPS, it is working normally.
If the FAULT indicator and continuous audible alarm is heard upon activating
the UPS, refer to the ‘MAINTENANCE” section of this manual.
7.2 Powering Down the Load (s) and UPS
CAUTION : Verify the load(s) connected to the UPS have been powered
down (turned off) according to their operating instructions.
Turn off the “ON/OFF” switch will transfer the UPS from the
inverter made to the Bypass mode. Turn off the input &
battery circuit breaker will shut down the UPS completely
and no AC power will be available at the output, thus
isolating the load.
a. Cold Starting the UPS
A User can start the Powerbank UPS, even when the power from utility is not
present. Turn ON battery isolator mounted on the back side and the
“ON/OFF” switch (RED COLOUR) on the front panel. Then push the ‘COLD
START” switch at the back panel and after about one second and the UPS
will start. Turning off the “ON/OFF” switch and/or the battery isolator will turn
off the cold-started UPS.
