Cleaning the air filter element
There is a check hose at the bottom of the air
filter case and at the bottom of the air duct
under the case. If dust or water collects in a
check hose, empty the hose and clean the air
filter element and air filter case.
1. Open the panel front
2. Remove the air filter case cover by un-
hooking the holders.

3. Remove the air filter element.
4. Remove the sponge material from the air
filter frame.
5. Wash the sponge material gently but
thoroughly in parts cleaning solvent.
Using gasoline or other flam-
mable solvents to clean the air filter element
can cause a fire or explosion, which could
lead to serious injury.
6. Squeeze the excess solvent out of the
sponge material.
Do not twist the
sponge material when squeezing it.
7. Wash the sponge material in warm soapy
water to remove remaining solvent, then
rinse thoroughly with plain warm water.
