Repacking the MakerBot Replicator Z18 for Return, Repair, or Exchange
These are instructions for packaging your MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D Printer to be sent back to
MakerBot or a MakerBot Authorized ServiceCenter for returns, repairs or exchanges. Do not send
your MakerBot Replicator Z18 back unless a return, repair, or exchange has been authorized.
Returns without a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number will not be accepted.
Please pay careful attention to these instructions and follow them as closely as possible. If you do
not pack your MakerBot Replicator Z18 using the supplied materials and as described here, we
cannot guarantee its safety and we will not be held responsible for any damage that may occur to
your MakerBot Replicator Z18 during transit.
Repacking Kit Contents:
(1) Accessory box
(2) Velcro straps
(1) Pallet
(2) 34.5 inch foam inserts
(2) 37.5 inch foam inserts
(1) Heavy-duty cardboard shipping box body
(1) Heavy-duty cardboard shipping box lid
(2) Pieces plastic strapping
(2) Strap buckles
1. Unload any filament from the Smart Extruder.
If you are returning the MakerBot Replicator Z18 for repair, please remove the filament
spool from the filament drawer and set it aside.
If you are returning the MakerBot Replicator Z18 for a refund or for an exchange, please
keep the filament spool in the filament drawer.
2. Wait for the Smart Extruder to cool to 50°C, then turn off the MakerBot Replicator Z18. Unplug
the power cord from the MakerBot Replicator Z18 and the socket outlet. Unplug the USB
cable and/or Ethernet cable if necessary.
If you are returning the MakerBot Replicator Z18 for repair, place the power cord in the
accessories box.
If you are returning the MakerBot Replicator Z18 for refund or exchange, place both the
power cord and USB cable in the accessories box.
3. Remove the Smart Extruder from the extruder carriage, wrap it in bubble wrap or newspaper,
and place it inside the accessory box.
4. Close the accessory box and use the velcro straps to secure it to the build plate.
Note: If returning filament, please leave it in the filament drawer
