TAPE
MONITOR
When
a
cassette
deck
with
a
monitor
function
(a
3-head
system)
is
used
for
recording,
pressing
TAPE
MONITOR
switch
1
(or
2)
allows
you
to
monitor
recording
conditions
through
the
speakers.
Make
sure
that
the
recording
and
playback
cables
are
both
con-
nected
at
this
time.
Note:
With
a
2-head
tape
deck,
recordings
cannot
be
monitored
with
the
TAPE
MONITOR
switch.
However,
you
can
listen
to
the
sound
from
the
program
source.

DUBBING
RECORDED
TAPES
If
you
have
two
cassette
decks,
you
can
dub
selections
previously
recorded
from
FM
broadcasts
or
the
like
to
another
tape.
It
is
also
possible
to
dub
from
open
reel
tape
to
cassette
tape.

tape
deck

to
tape
deck
2,
press
TAPE
COPY
2;
when
dubbing
from
tape
deck
2
to
tape
deck
1,
press
TAPE
COPY
1.
Notes:
1.
To
monitor
a
selection
while
it is
being
recorded,
press
TAPE
MONITOR
switch
1
or
2,
depending
on
which
deck
is
being
used
as
the
source.
2.
It is
also
possible
to
listen
to
another
program
source
while
dubbing
tapes.
In
this
case,
make
sure
that
TAPE
MONITOR
switches
1
and
2
are
OFF.
SPECIAL
FUNCTION
Combining
the
SD530,
SD630
or
SD430
with
the
Marantz
PM630
or
PM730
amplifier,
ST530
tuner
and
other
equipment
allow
you
to
build
aconvenient
system
as
shown
below.

Easy
Operation
Bus
System
When
the
PM630
or
PM730
are
connected
to
the
SD530,
SD630
or
SD430,
ST530,
TT333
and
the
remote
contro!
receiver,
the
source
selector
of
the
PM630
or
PM730
are
automatically
switched
only
by
operating
the
PLAY
button
of
the
equipment
played.
The
amplifier
and
other
equipment
must
be
connected
together
using
the
easy
operation
bus
cables
(with
green
plugs).
The
£.0.
bus
output
terminal
of
an
equipment
should
be
con-
nected
to
the
E.Q.
bus
input
terminal
of
an
equipment
which
is
closer
to
the
amplifier.
Notes:
1.
The
easy
operation
bus
of
the
SD530,
SD630
or
SD430
cannot
be
used
during
recording.
2.
The
easy
operation
bus
of
the
SD530,
SD630
or
SD430
functions
only
when
the
input
and
output
cables
are
con-
nected
to
the
TAPE
1/VIDEO
terminals;
it
does
not
function
when
they
are
connected
to
the
TAPE
2/EQ
terminals.

Remote
Control
(R.C.)
Bus
System
Plug
the
remote
control
cable
(orange)
into
this
terminal
and
into
the
corresponding
terminal
on
the
tuner,
cassette
deck,
etc.
Be
sure
to
connect
the
cable
to
the
connector
with
the
orange
marking;
connecting
it
to
any
other
connector
can
result
in
damage
to
your
equipment.
The
remote
control
bus
carries
signals
sent
to
the
remote
control
receiver
by
infrared
pulses
from
the
remote
control
unit
(whose
amplifier
section
memory
contains
volume
control,
function
switching,
muting
and
loudness
opera-
tions)
making
it
possible
to
operate
the
main
unit
by
remote
control.

the

serial

unit

you
feel

REPACKING
FOR
SHIPMENT
Should
it
become
necessary
to
repack
your
Console
Amplifier
for
shipment
to
the
factory,
to
an
Authorized
Service
Station,
or
elsewhere,
please
observe
the
following
precautions:
a.
Pack
the
unit
carefully,
using
the
original
material
as
shown
in
Figure
10.
b.
Ship
via
a
reputable
carrier
(do
not
use
Parcel
Post)
ard
obtain
a
shipping
receipt
from
the
carrier.
c.
Be
sure
to
inciude
your
return
address
on
the
shippinglabel.
