SANDING ROUGH WOOD SURFACES
OR REMOVING PAINT
1. Sand rough wood surfaces or remove
paint by sanding across the grain at
45° in both directions (1) (Fig. 6).
NOTES:
a) Sanding at 45° will result in faster
removal of surface material.
b) Move the sander in a linear motion
only. Moving the sander in an orbital
motion may cause the belt to track
improperly on the sanding belt rollers.
2. Finish sanding parallel to the wood
grain.
SANDING CONCAVE SURFACES
Use the front sanding belt roller to sand
concave surfaces (Fig. 7).
NOTE: Use only slight pressure on the
sander. Be careful to keep the sander
moving while using the front roller only.
The sander will easily gouge the workpiece
if too much pressure is applied or the
sander is not kept moving.
CHANGING THE DRIVE BELT
After several hours of use, the drive belt
may become worn or break.
WARNING: Remove the plug from
the power source.
1. Turn the tool on its right hand side on
a table or workbench.
WARNING: The tool will be quite hot
immediately after sanding. Let the tool cool
down to room temperature before
changing the drive belt.
