Troubleshooting Guide
Removing the Fan Bracket from the Console Frame
This bracket can be removed with or without removing the console from the frame. In either case, the
upper rear shroud must be removed first.
1. Remove the Console from the Frame OR Remove the upper rear shroud.
2. Remove 4 #2 Phillips from fan/speaker/CSAFE/CAB board bracket; set aside.
3. Cut zip tie affixing CSAFE, CAB, and Ground cables to frame rail (middle right).
Zip tie is not pictured in image.
4. Remove the Ground spade connector from the CSAFE/CAB board.
5. Gently flip bracket out of the way to access the following connectors.
6. Remove connector from UCB socket J24 (Blower).
7. Remove connector from UCB socket JP3 (Speaker).
8. Remove connector from UCB socket J16 (CSAFE).
Use a tool to access retention tab on connecter under frame rail.
9. Remove connector from UCB socket J19 (CAB).
Use a tool to access retention tab on connecter under frame rail.
10. Lift bracket away from console frame; set aside.
Removing the fan bracket is required to service the following components:
RFID/NFC Board
Wi-Fi /Bluetooth Board
RFID/NFC Antenna
Wi-Fi Antenna
Virtual Active (VA) microSD
SOM (System on Module) Board
UCB (TouchXL consoles)
Installing the Fan Bracket in the Console Frame
1. Retrieve fan bracket from disassembly.
2. Place bracket wherever convenient on console frame and make the following connections.
3. Align & connect the cable to UCB socket J24 (Blower).
4. Align & connect the cable to UCB socket JP3 (Speaker).
5. Align & connect the cable to UCB socket J16 (CSAFE).
6. Align & connect the cable to UCB socket J19 (CAB).
7. Align 4 holes on bracket with threaded holes on frame; affix bracket with 4 #2 Phillips screws.
8. Connect Ground spade connector to tab on bottom of CSAFE/CAB board.
9. Zip tie CSAFE, CAB, and Ground cables to frame rail.
Install the Console upper rear shroud is likely next.
Installing the Console upper rear shroud
1. Place the upper rear shroud into place on the console.
2. Affix with 4 #2 Phillips.
