How to use the machine
OPERATION MODES BLADE i VERSION
The Blade i version, tted with an INVERTER, is currently
the most exible product in the MATTEI range of
industrial compressors.
Generally, speaking, air requirements in a user
network are not constant but vary continuously. These
variations occur for many reasons, such as dierent
usage, maintenance and reprogramming frequencies,
underuse and/or overuse caused by dierent production
cycles and work shifts.
All these factors lead to variable air requirements which
Blade i is able to satisfy thanks to its elevated operating
exibility. Blade i varies its speed of rotation in order to
adjust air ow to eective requirements.
To perform this operation Blade i is equipped with
pressure sensor that constantly detect the pressure of
the delivered air and, consequently ,the line pressure.
Like for all standard compressors, the user sets the max
and Pmin values (the minimum dierence between
these two values cannot be lower than 0,1 bar) and
establishes in this way the pressure range within which
to operate.
Maestro
XB
calculates a target pressure as the average
value of the set values (PID). It maintains the pressure
around this value by modifying the engine speed when
the pressure read moves away from the target pressure.
F
The top speed is closely connected with the
maximum pressure. This makes it possible to
optimise the compressor consumption and
prevent the motor from overloading.
Once the no-load condition has been reached
and the no-load run time is terminated, the
compressor only stops if the oil temperature
exceeds the value set. The line pressure is
controlled in order to prevent it from exceeding
the Pmax over a certain delta.
If the compressor is installed on a system with
incorrectly sized tanks, the inverter may not be
able to decelerate rapidly and thus allowing the
line pressure to exceed the Pmax. Consequently,
the compressor reverts to the no-load condition
after a certain period of time, regardless of its
operating speed.
CONTROLLER MAESTRO
XB
In order to communicate with the user, MAESTRO
XB
features various menus that allow the compressor to
be monitored and programmed. These are divided by
function and not all of them can be accessed by the nal
customer. Some of them are protected by one or more
passwords. The menus are divided according to the
functions that they control.
The main menus used to manage the compressor are:
Menu User access
Monitor Menu Yes
User Menu Yes
Advanced Menu No
Clock Menu Yes
Log Menu Yes
Network Menu Yes
Info Menu Yes
The various menus also use texts informing the user
of the meaning of the variables and the functions they
perform.
For a more detailed description of individual menus,
please refer to the MAESTRO
XB
manual supplied with this
manual.
OPERATIONAL FAILURES
Failures can be divided as follows:
Failures with an intervention signal (alarms).
Failures causing the immediate stop of the
compressor (blocks).
The card signals a failure by lighting of the reset button,
together with a visual signal through icons and a sliding
description.
Press “Reset key a second time to reset the compressor
operation.
