For optimal cleaning and drying
results, hot water is necessary. The
incomingwatertemperatureshould be
120-1400 F (49-600 C) to properly
activatethe detergentand melt greasy
food soils.
Tocheck theincomingwatertemperature,
turnon the hot waterfaucet nearestthe
dishwasherandletit runintoa glassin the
sink. Place a candy thermometerin the
glass and check the temperatureonce it
has stopped rising. If the temperatureis
below 1200 F (49° C), have a qualified
person raisethe water heater thermostat
setting.
Beforestartingthedishwasher,turnon the
hot water faucet and let it run until the
waterishot.Thisassuresthat the initialfill
ofwateris hot.
DETEDSENT
Use a detergentdesignedspecificallyfor
usein anautomaticdishwasher.Besure it
isfreshandstoredina cool,dryplace(not
underthe sink).
RECOMMENDEDAMOUNT
Toolittledetergentresultsinpeercleaning,
hard water filming/spotting and poor
drying. Too much detergent can cause
permanentetching!cloudiness.
The amount of detergent to use is
determinedby the hardnessof the water
and soil levelof the load. Refer to the
following chart for detergent usage
recommendations.
Donot usedetergentwiththeRinseOnly
cycle. Leavethe detergentlid openwhen
runningRinseOnly.
In extremely hard water conditions (13
grainsper gallonormore*), it isdifficultto
achievegoodresultswith anydishwasher.
A mechanical water softener may be
necessary to improve water quality,

RINSEAID
Regular use of a rinse aid improves
drying, reducesspotting and filming,
and reduces moisture left on the
dishwasherinterior.
An automatic rinse aid dispenser is
located next to the detergentcup. The
window next to the dispenser cap
indicates when the rinse aid reservoir
needs to be refilled. When the level of
rinseaid is belowthe indicatormarksand
thewindowis nearlyclear,it is timetorefill
the dispenser. Check the dispenser
monthly.
Toadd rinseaid to the dispenser,tumthe
cap ceunterdockwiseto open. Remove
the cap and pourliquid rinseaid into the
opening. The amount of rinse aid
dispensedduringthecycleis adjustableby
movingthe leverinsidethe reservoirarea.
For most water conditions use
manufacturersrecommended setting of
"3". Adjustit upto the =MAX"settingfor
hard water, Set the lever anywhere
betweenthese amountsas neededtoget
thebestresults. Replacethe capandturn
it clockwiseto dose.
