Creek and River Crossings
These crossings can be extremely dangerous even in low water levels and should never be attempted in times of
even mild ooding. Towing a Caravan greatly elevates the risk in this situation and should never be attempted unless
you are completely assured it is safe to do so. If there is any doubt about access in ood prone areas, you should
contact the local authorities to nd out conditions and dangers before you proceed.

Recovery points
Do not attempt to recover via points that aren’t designated recovery point. You vehicle must be tted with rated
points that exceed the safe load of any recovery straps or tow straps being used.
Hardware
Shackles are an integral part of any recovery kit. Soft shackles pictured below add a great deal of safety to any
recovery situation as they are lightweight and a soft material reducing dangers of impact in the event of
equipment failure.
Traction boards, shovel and high lift jack are extremely
handy to have for recoveries.
Snatch straps should be rated for the entire load you
are recovering.
