Engine Will Not Crank
Possible Causes Remedy
Battery switch turned "OFF." Turn switch "ON."
Gearshift not in neutral position. Position control lever to neutral.
Open circuit breaker or fuse.
Check and reset circuit breaker or
replace fuse.
Loose or dirty electrical connections or
damaged wiring.
Check all electrical connections and
wires (especially battery cables). Clean
and tighten faulty connection.
Defective battery. Test and replace if defective.
Defective starter. Test and replace if defective.
Flywheel ring gear is damaged.
Confirm diagnosis and replace
flywheel.
Engine is seized.
Check to see if engine can be rotated
by hand with the spark plugs removed.
If not, then determine cause.
Faulty ignition switch.
Test ignition wiring and see if the starter
motor can be activated with a remote
starter switch.
Faulty PCM ground circuit or faulty
PCM
Repair or replace as necessary.
