Engine Cranks But Will Not Start
Possible Cause Remedy
Improper starting procedure Read starting procedure
Low battery voltage Charge the battery
Empty fuel tank or fuel shut off valve
closed
Fill tank or open valve
Faulty fuel pump, wiring, fuel pump
fuse, 50 amp circuit breaker or a fuel
pump relay
Replace faulty component
Faulty ignition system component Service ignition system
Lanyard Stop Activated Reset
Obstructed fuel filter Replace filters
Stale or contaminated fuel
If contaminated, drain tank and fill with
fresh fuel
Fuel line or tank vent line kinked or
restricted
Replace kinked lines or blow out lines
with compressed air to remove
obstruction
Crankshaft position sensor faulty Test and replace if faulty
Faulty fuel pressure regulator
diaphragm
Test and replace if faulty. Do not
attempt to start the engine if the fuel
pressure regulator diaphragm is
ruptured.
