When the ignition switch is toggled to the "ON" position, the
warning light will turn on for a moment as a test to ensure it is
working.
The Engine Guardian System monitors the critical sensors on the
engine for any early indications of problems. The system will
respond to a problem using the ignition/warning light and/or
reducing engine power in order to provide engine protection. Refer
to Overspeed Rev Limit for instructions on resetting the Engine
Guardian System.
