Safety distances to the sides of and
behind the appliance
Ideally the hob should be installed with
plenty of space on either side. There
may be a wall at the rear and a tall unit
or wall on one side (right or left) (see
illustrations).
The following minimum distances
should be adhered to for safety
reasons:
a Minimum distance of 50 mm at the
back of the worktop cut-out to the
rear edge of the worktop.
b Minimum distance of 100 mm to the
right of the worktop cut-out to the
nearest piece of furniture (e.g. tall
unit) or wall.
c Minimum distance of 100 mm to the
left of the worktop cut-out to the
nearest piece of furniture (e.g. tall
unit) or wall.
