Safety clearances to the sides
and back of the cooktop
Ideally, the cooktop should be installed
with plenty of space on either side.
There may be a wall at the rear or a tall
cabinet or wall on one side (right or left)
(see illustrations).
 Minimum distance between the back
of the countertop cut-out and the rear
edge of the countertop:
50mm
 Minimum distance on the right side
between the countertop cut-out and the
closest adjacent piece of furniture (e.g.
tall cabinet) or a room wall:
50mm
 Minimum distance on the left side
between the countertop cut-out and the
closest adjacent piece of furniture (e.g.
tall cabinet) or a room wall:
50mm
