Vector plot of the nearly steady state wave-induced velocity field (after 20
minutes) is shown in Figure 4.42 for the two wave cases. For the MIKE 21
BW simulation the velocity is computed as the time-average of the depth-
averaged velocity below the surface roller. As expected the current speeds
are significant larger in case of regular waves. No data is available for qualita-
tive and quantitative comparisons. Sections 4.2.8 (Detached breakwater) and
4.2.7 (Rip channel) deal with examples where experimental data is available.
