e. Make sure that the Power Cables from the battery are disconnected, or that the breaker if equipped, is “off”.
WARNING
Make sure the motor is mounted on a level surface and is not connected to a power source.

f. Place the mount as close to the centerline or keel of the boat as possible. The motor can be installed on either the Port or Starboard side of the boat based on personal
preference. Check placement with the motor in the stowed and deployed positions. Review the mounting considerations at the beginning of the installation.

g. When the motor is in the deployed position, make sure that the Shaft is 1-1/2″ out past the Gunwale of the boat. The lower unit, when stowed and deployed must not
encounter any obstructions. h. Check to be sure that the mount is level. Use the Rubber Washers were provided to create a level surface if necessary.
