1. Switching the system on
The controlling PC should be connected and powered up prior to the test system
being switched on.
When the MK test system mains power is switched on, only the standby (or SSR)
green LED on the right should be lit. Once the operator double clicks the MKAT icon
and logs in, the system’s internal supplies will switch on and all green LEDs (except
the HV Dump LED) will be lit.

2. Logging on to the MKAT Editor & Runner
software
MKAT Editor and Runner software can both be
accessed from the system desktop by double
clicking on the relevant shortcut icon as shown.
MKAT software has been written with the primary intention
of being simple to use. To aid this, the software is split into two
parts - the MKAT Editor and MKAT Runner.
The Editor is a desktop application for creating test programs.
The Runner runs test programs on the shop fl oor, auto-learn of golden
harnesses, and diagnostics.
The below Quick Start Guide enables a fi rst time user to switch the system on,
log in and navigate to the user manuals.
For details on how to operate your MK Test System, we recommend reading
the full Editor and Runner software manuals and / or undertake product
training. Full product manuals can be accessed from our website (www.
mktest.com/resources) or via the help button within the MKAT Editor as
explained below.
