This document describes the MOCAarm Automatic Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor.
Function Description
The MOCAarm is a medical device designed for home use to automatically measure systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as heart rate, using the oscillometric method. It is intended for adults aged 18 years and older with an upper arm circumference ranging from 9 to 13 inches (approx. 23 cm to 33 cm). The device displays all values on an LCD panel. It features an Irregular Heartbeat Detector (IHD) that indicates the appearance of irregular heartbeats during measurement. Additionally, a BP Category Indicator shows the user's blood pressure level based on WHO classifications. The monitor also includes a Bluetooth Communication function, allowing it to transmit measurement results (Measure Date, Systolic Pressure, Diastolic Pressure, and Pulse Rate) to a paired Bluetooth device running the MOCACARE app.

Usage Features
- Measurement Procedure:
- The monitor automatically enters standby mode upon power-on.
- Users can set the year, date, and time manually using the Mode, Up, and Down buttons. Alternatively, the date and time can be automatically updated by connecting to a smart device via Bluetooth.
- Before measurement, users select one of three user profiles (User 1, 2, or 3).
- To start a measurement, the cuff is wrapped around the upper arm, and the START/STOP button is pressed. The monitor inflates automatically to an ideal level.
- During inflation, the monitor detects blood pressure and pulse rate, with the Heartbeat Symbol (♥) flashing at each beat. Users are advised to remain still and quiet.
- After measurement, the cuff deflates, and systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, heart rate, BP Category Indicator, and Irregular Heartbeat Detector (if any) are displayed with date and time for 1 minute. Results are automatically saved to memory.
- The device automatically shuts off after 1 minute of inactivity.
- Memory Function:
- Automatically stores systolic and diastolic pressure, heart rate, pulse, BP Category Indicator, and Irregular Heartbeat Detector symbol (if any) with date and time after each measurement.
- Supports up to 120 memories for 3 users, automatically replacing the oldest data with new ones.
- Recalling Data: Press the Memory button to enter Memory Mode, which first displays the average of the last 3 measurements. Subsequent presses cycle through individual stored results. The Up and Down buttons scroll through stored results, alternating between Year/Date and Time display. Pressing START/STOP exits Memory Mode.
- Erasing Data: In Memory Mode, select a user, then press and hold the Down and Memory buttons simultaneously to erase all data for that user. Data cannot be restored once deleted.
- Bluetooth Data Deletion: Memory data for individual users or all data can also be deleted via the MOCACARE app on a Bluetooth-paired device.
- Bluetooth Transmission:
- Built-in Bluetooth Communication function (Bluetooth 4.2 BLE) automatically transmits measurement results to a paired smart device.
- The Bluetooth function is ON by default but can be toggled ON/OFF manually through the device settings (after setting year, date, and time).
- Bluetooth activates automatically after measurement completion, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth symbol. It can also be manually activated by pressing the Memory button for 3 seconds in standby mode.
- Requires the "MOCACARE" app, available on Google Play and App Store.
- BP Category Indicator: Classifies blood pressure measurements into six stages (Optimal to Severe Hypertension) based on WHO standards, displayed as a bar indicator on the LCD.
- Irregular Heartbeat Detector (IHD): Displays a symbol if a heartbeat rhythm deviates by more than 25% from the average rhythm during measurement. This serves as an early detection mechanism for pulse irregularities.
Maintenance Features
- General Use:
- Do not twist the cuff.
- Do not press START/STOP if the cuff is not wrapped around the arm.
- Avoid dropping the product or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- Cleaning:
- Clean the device and cuff with a soft dry cloth.
- For the device, use a dry cloth with water (do not flush or soak).
- Ensure the cuff is completely dry before use.
- Disinfection (Cuff):
- For single-person home use: Wipe once a month with a commercially available 75% alcohol cotton sheet for more than 30 seconds.
- For multi-person home use: Disinfect once a week with a commercially available 75% alcohol cotton sheet for more than 30 seconds.
- Before use, check for blood stains or soil on the LCD, device, and cuff. Dispose of the device if any are present.
- If used in a complex environment (e.g., hospital) or by multiple non-family members, discard the old cuff and replace it with a new one.
- Storage:
- Remove batteries if the device will not be used for a long time to prevent battery acid leakage.
- Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humid or dusty places.
- Calibration: It is recommended to have the device checked for calibration every two years. Consult the distributor for this service.
- Battery Replacement: Replace all 4 AAA batteries with new ones when the Low Battery Symbol appears or if the device is unresponsive. Ensure correct polarity. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
