SERVICE & TROUBLESHOOTING
Troubleshooting
IMPORTANT
To check most of the Possible Remedies in the troubleshooting
guide, refer to the applicable sections of the manual.
CAUTION
Do not attempt to reuse any mechanical or electrical controllers
which have been wet. Replace defective controller.
WARNING
When servicing or repairing this equipment, use only factory-
approved service replacement parts. A complete replacement
parts list may be obtained by contacting Modine Manufacturing
Company. Refer to the rating plate on the appliance for
complete appliance model number, serial number, and
company address. Any substitution of parts or controls not
approved by the factory will be at the owner’s risk.
Is vent blocked or restricted?
Remove restriction
Is there spillage after 5 minutes? (see note 1)
Is there a negative pressure in space? (see note 2) Replace blocked vent switch;
Does switch still trip?

Is vent in compliance
with NFGC?
Can negative pressure
be corrected?

To determine spillage, place lit match
stick (6" - 8" match stick if possible) 2" - 3"
into diverter relief opening and determine
direction of the flame (or direction of
smoke if flame goes out). If flame or
smoke comes back at you, there is
spillage. The flame or smoke should be
pulled in.
One indication of negative pressure is
that outside doors tend to be pulled toward
inside of space.
